I had the pleasure and the privilege to work alongside Nilesh Patel while he was the Regional Vice President of Revenue Management for Highgate Hotels. When you are responsible for a collection of properties with over $800 million dollars in asset value in one market, the need for accuracy is not only required but imperative. Through the meticulous scrutiny of market data, Nilesh was able to formulate strategies which allowed our hotels to defy the market during softer periods and dominate the market during strong ones. His talent to pick up on trends and respond immediately was uncanny. His knowledge of the various revenue management systems and software was unmatched. He would effortlessly transition from property to property, challenge to challenge without missing a step. His ability to educate and mentor his team, explain the strategies to his ownership groups and partner with the other executives in the market was a testament to both his professionalism and acumen. We would not have achieved the milestones or enjoyed the success without his commitment to detail and exceptional guidance. I can truly say Nilesh was one of the best.
